Burn on Fire!

West Coast Burn made a 100% winning start to the season as they played five and won five in the opening weekend of the BT Super Series Division 2.

Burn are sitting pretty at the top of the league table with ten points, two points clear of Caledonian Crushers.

Domonic Chadwick (2.5) and Stuart Robinson (3.5) made the weekend even more memorable after they came away with ‘Best in Class’ awards.

Alan Ash’s side started the weekend in terrific fashion beating Crushers 40-33, local rivals Liverpool – RGC 48-27 and then Gloucester Titans 45-34 to top the group.

West Country Hawks were Burns next opponents in the crossover and with our boys in full swing, there was nothing going to stop us. Burn won comfortably 47-37 which took us into the final.

Caledonian Crushers were again our opponent and although a very tight match we again came out victors 41-37.

Assistant coach Daniel Dawoud, spoke to Crash afterwards “Everyone played brilliantly throughout the weekend and because of that we could share out the court time. Although Domonic and Stuart won ‘Best in Class’ awards, I have to mention Mikey Fraser and James Gill, both boys were great. They were able to adapt to the different roles we gave them and Fraser especially was a great leader on court.”

Burn will hope to carry on this winning streak when our lads head to Leicester Arena in over a month’s time.
